Kitten Love

Preview for my summer semester portfolio:

Ten million fireflies lit up the world as I fell asleep

Our last weekly in my small format class was 'painting with light'.  I chose to use a super long shutter speed and I had my subject in the foreground lit by strobe and in the background, someone ran around with a lighter, lighting it up in different places.  It kind of gave it a firefly, fairytale look and I was pretty pleased with it.

Black Bow Affair

This is a re-edit of a photo from a shoot that I did with Andi Jurczak last semester.  I want a tilt shift lens so badly!

I Was Framed!

Our weekly in our small format class was framing.  We had to use elements within the scene to create a frame around our subject.  I went into a local flower shop to find this amazingly bright and colorful place. Luckily, the woman working inside was very used to RCC photo students coming in and taking photos and she was kind enough to let me snap a photo of her.

Happy Birthday America!

Our assignment in my digital class this week was "Americana" themed. Of course, it being the fourth of July, I took some firework photos. Enjoy!

1, 2, 3 Colors!

Last semester in our design class, we had a series of assignments where we had to photograph different color relationships like monochromatic, complementary, and triadic.  For my triadic shot, since we had the option of setting it up, I decided to do something a little different. (Triadic colors are three colors that are equally distant on the color wheel. For example, red, yellow, and blue.) I chose cyan, magenta, and yellow as my three colors.
